Ramo de Ca' Zusto

The name comes from the Zusto family, one of the oldest in the Venetian patriciate. Tassini, quoting the Paduan historian Orsato, traces their arrival from Padua to 454. The family helped found various churches in Venice and gave the city an Almorò Zusto, who won a victory over the Bolognese in 1276. The political history of the Zusto family had its ups and downs.
