A calle of the sestiere of Santa Croce that connects the Riva di Biasio, on the Grand Canal, with the interior of the sestiere in the direction of San Zan Degola. The name comes from the ’pistor’, the bread seller in Venetian - a word older than the shop: in the earliest city documents the bakers are called ’paneteruoli’ and in the Statute of Mazzorbo of 1315 ’pancogoli’.
