This Dorsoduro bank takes its name from a bridge that no longer exists. Before the rio had stone crossings, residents laid a walkway of small planks — ’tolette’ — across the water. The name stuck to the whole canal, a 200-metre ribbon between the rio Malpaga and the rio di San Trovaso.
