Walled into the brick façade, to the right of the portal, is a white marble plaque that hardly anyone reads any more. It opens with a date, MDCXXXIII, 1633, and continues with a blunt notice: ’All games are forbidden, of whatever kind, and likewise the selling of wares, the setting up of stalls or booths, the uttering of blasphemies and the committing of other indecencies about this church’.
