A calle of San Polo, in the mesh of streets between Campo Sant’Agostin and San Polo, where the name recalls a sweet trade: the scaleter was the ciambellajo, the pastry cook. Before a small canal was filled in, the calle communicated with the Calle del Calice by way of the Ponte del Calice — at whose feet, in the 17th century, worked the workshop of the spicer Sarcinelli.
