Campo San Fantin is one of the densest fulcrums of history in the city: on one side the neoclassical façade of the Teatro La Fenice, the temple of opera inaugurated in 1792 and twice risen from its own ashes; on the other the church of San Fantino, a thousand years old, rebuilt in the 16th century with ten thousand ducats left by Cardinal Zeno — and it was the Senate that saw to executing his will.
