Where the Grand Canal meets the rio della Maddalena (a Venetian canal), facing San Stae, Palazzo Molin Querini — now also known as Gaspari, or Palazzo Molin alla Maddalena — stands beside Palazzo Emo, its lively façade cut by a sharp corner. Rebuilt in the 18th century on 17th-century foundations, it was home to the Molin ‘del Traghetto della Maddalena’, the family of doge Francesco Molin and Cardinal Giovanni Molin.
