Between Palazzo Molin Erizzo and Palazzo Emo alla Maddalena, Palazzo Soranzo Piovene is an elegant example of early 16th-century Lombardesque architecture, attributed to Sante Lombardo, Pietro’s nephew. Its asymmetrical façade, with two superimposed three-light windows, looks unlike any other on the Grand Canal. It also features a balcony in Istrian stone with pierced balustrades and Ionic columns topped by Brunelleschi’s distinctive block.
