At number 4438, almost opposite the church of Santi Apostoli, this palazzo holds an absence: its façade was once entirely covered in frescoes by Camillo Ballini, a late-16th-century painter. They are now lost. Ballini was from Brescia and trained in the shadow of Palma il Giovane and Titian; his reputation rests on the frescoes of Palazzo Barbarigo on the Grand Canal, the best-preserved among the old ones.
