At the end of Calle dell’Arco (a narrow Venetian street), tucked beneath an arch that crosses it, you can glimpse one of the city’s oldest façades: a 13th-century Veneto-Byzantine two-light window and cladding in eastern marble. The arch gave the street its name and marked an old arrangement: the houses on either side had the same owner.
