Between Ca’ Dario and Casa Salviati, on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro, this 15th-century palace is easy to recognise: its façade is almost entirely red brick, with a pointed-arch water doorway and an elegant six-light window on the piano nobile, framed by a row of dentils. Built on a Venetian-Byzantine plan and given a Gothic finish in the 15th century, it belonged for a long time to the patrician Barbaro family, who gave it their name.
