On the Strada Nova, towards Santa Fosca, one shop window guards the oldest pharmacy interior left in Venice: the spezieria all’Ercole d’Oro (the Golden Hercules apothecary’s shop), already open in the 17th century and famous throughout the city for its Santa Fosca Pills, called ’del Piovan’, which remained on sale for almost three centuries.
