From the Fondamenta de le Sechere the rio de le Muneghete bends only slightly, and on the Santa Croce bank looks out a bare-brick façade that Venetians have always called the Casa delle Cinque Teste — a popular name, because this house has never had an official one. Look at the Istrian stone water portal, flanked by two oval windows: above it the wall opens into a lunette of blind arches, and there five heads carved by stonemasons are fixed.
