Beside the Basilica dei Frari opens a building that preserves the written memory of Venice: the State Archives. For nearly six centuries it was the Ca’ Granda of the Conventual Franciscan friars, a vast organism of church, cloisters, refectories and cells born on ground that in the 13th century was still marked by water.
