Viale Quattro Novembre is a promenade in Sant’Elena that holds together two faces of Venice: the green of the Giardini della Biennale and the water of the Rio di Sant’Elena (a rio is a small Venetian canal). Its course runs along the eastern edge of the exhibition area, where mature trees, lampposts and international pavilions turn a street into an open-air architecture gallery.
