Leaning against the columns of the sotoportego that links the Erbaria to the Bella Vienna, the stone preserves a chorus of 19th-century voices shouted in the 20th. Stencilled in black paint, someone wrote ’W ROMA INTANGIBILE’ and ’A ROMA CI SIAMO E CI RESTEREMO’: the traces are visible on the inner faces of two columns in the middle of the passage, but pigeon droppings and flaking plaster erase a little of them every year.
