’Salizada’, in Venice, is a mark of merit: it meant a paved street, one of the first, when the other calli were still beaten earth. This one joins Campo San Samuele, which looks onto the Grand Canal beside Palazzo Grassi, with the interior of the San Marco district, and has been a street of artisans for centuries.
