A calle of the sestiere of San Marco that opens onto the campo of San Samuele, on the Grand Canal. The name sounds strange in a city without wheels, and indeed carriages did not circulate here: they were manufactured. The Description of the District of San Samuele of 1661 records in this calle a house of Pietro Badoer rented to master Visin, ’carozzer’ - coachbuilder.
