A stone-and-brick bridge over the rio di San Felice (a rio is a small Venetian canal), between the head of the parish and Strada Nova — and it really is ’new’: it was erected in 1872, when the Via Vittorio Emanuele, today’s Strada Nova, was laid out. The rio it spans is a long serpent of water running from the Sacca della Misericordia down to the Grand Canal, where it debouches at Santa Sofia, the parish suppressed in 1810 and almost entirely absorbed by San Felice itself; going up it northwards you meet the Ponte Chiodo, the only bridge in Venice left without parapets, beside the Gothic Palazzo Priuli Scarpon.
