This large palace, with its pink plaster façade, stands at the mouth of the rio (a Venetian canal) di San Felice, just before the Ca’ d’Oro. The Fontana, merchants from Piacenza, commissioned it in the early decades of the 17th century. Their forebear Giovita, from a noble family, had moved to Venice to trade, and construction went on for many years.
