The Ponte della Croce, also called ’della Zirada’, crosses the rio de la Croce (a rio is a small canal) exactly where the little canal flows into the Grand Canal, between the Fondamenta dei Tolentini (a canalside walkway) and the greenery of the Papadopoli Gardens. It joins the Fondamenta San Giacomo to the Fondamenta de la Croce with a structure of stone and brick, and iron railings in oblique crosses supported by small columns of Istrian stone.
