On the Rio dei Carmini (a rio is a small canal), a stone’s throw from the Ponte del Soccorso, Palazzo Zenobio is a solid and rich dwelling of the late 17th century, built to a design by Antonio Gaspari for the Zenobio patricians, ’friends of the arts and of study’: here Luca Carlevaris lived and worked, so much so that he remained known as the painter ’of Ca’ Zenobio’, and Lazzarini too painted a mezzanine here.
