At the Zattere al Ponte Longo, at number 1402, a severe sixteenth-century palace has looked out over the Giudecca canal for almost half a millennium without ever really having changed family: it was built by a branch of the Giustinian linked by marriage to the Morosini, passed by blood to the Recanati — a family from Badia Polesine enrolled in the patriciate in the seventeenth century — and still belongs today to the descendants of the Giustinian Recanati.
