Tucked away in the quiet northern calli (Venetian streets) of Cannaregio, this former church tells almost a thousand years of Venice’s story. The Frati del Sacco began it: they were poor penitents dressed in coarse sackcloth, and the order was dissolved in 1274 before the church was finished.
