In the quiet heart of its campiello (a small square) in Cannaregio, San Canciano keeps the memory of the refugees from Aquileia who fled the invasions: dedicated to the martyr brothers Cantius, Cantianus and Cantianilla and their tutor Protus, killed in 304, it was founded, by tradition, in 864 and consecrated on 20 May 1351 by the bishop of Jesolo.
