Two steps from Piazzale Roma, protected by a high boundary wall, this is one of the very few Venetian churches built in the 19th century: a small neoclassical temple erected between 1815 and 1834 to a design by Giannantonio Selva, the architect of the Fenice, and completed by his pupil Antonio Diedo: the solemn consecration came on 12 October 1834, after twenty-four years of building works.
