Along the Zattere, with its façade turned towards the Giudecca Canal, the church of the Spirito Santo keeps an eventful history: here arose in 1483 the monastery of the Augustinian nuns, famous already in the 16th century for the scandals documented by Tassini, and here the church was rebuilt in 1506, when the fondamenta (canalside walkway) was laid out along the canal.
