Campo Santa Maria Mater Domini is a quiet corte (a small Venetian courtyard) in the sestiere (one of Venice’s six districts) of Santa Croce, with a vera da pozzo (wellhead) at its centre and a rio (Venetian canal) beside it, crossed by the bridge towards Calle della Regina, a Venetian street. The church that gives the campo its name sits back from the square, on a side street.
