A few metres of calle (street) behind the Rialto market, and a name that smells of the shop counter. ’Rughetta’ is the diminutive of ruga, the street flanked by shops: this lane runs inside the commercial heart of the city, between the Ruga Vecchia and the San Silvestro area, where goods arrived and were unloaded in rivers.
