Opposite Punta della Dogana, where the Grand Canal meets the rio di San Moisè (a Venetian canal), stands a pink palace hiding a paradox: its finest façade is not the one you see. When Bartolomeo Manopola rebuilt it in the 17th century he decided the main front would be the one on the narrow rio, not on the canal of palaces.
