On the Grand Canal, in the sestiere (district; Venice has six) of San Polo, between Casa Sicher and Palazzo Dona dalle Trezze, Palazzo Dona della Madonnetta is one of the oldest palazzi in Venice: a Veneto-Byzantine house of the 12th-13th centuries, built by the Signolo family, which vies with Ca’ Da Mosto for the title of oldest building on the Grand Canal.
