A short walk from Rialto, on the right-hand side of the Grand Canal between Palazzo Corner Valmarana and Ca’ Farsetti, stands the 16th-century Palazzo Cavalli, also known as Casa Corner Martinengo. Its façade has two four-light windows with balustrades, and a rare wooden liagò (an enclosed loggia) survives on the side; at ground level, two water entrances open onto a narrow fondamenta (a canalside walkway).
