Palazzo Barbarigo is the palazzo that, from the vaporetto (water bus) on the Grand Canal, never goes unnoticed: its façade is a glittering mantle of glass mosaics that catches the sun and gives it back to the water. Under that 19th-century dress there is a 16th-century palazzo on the corner with Campo San Vio, a stone’s throw from the Accademia Bridge and Palazzo Venier dei Leoni.
