In a blind alley in Castello, just outside the walls of the Arsenale, the wonder is not on the walls: it is under your shoes. The paving of Ramo de la Tana looks like that of any other calle, but in the last stretch the rectangles turn into squares, irregular, and in between appear slabs cut into triangles, fitted one into another like the pieces of a mosaic.
