This fondamenta (canalside walkway) in Cannaregio has a double name — dei Riformati or del Bersaglio — telling of its two souls: the Franciscan friars of the strictest observance, called the Riformati, who founded the convent and church of San Bonaventura here, and the public target range where, from the 16th century on, Venetians practised firing bombards.
