A Peek into the Casa di Goldoni

You do not need a ticket for this show: from the entrance, the view runs straight to the courtyard, and what appears is one of the most intact Gothic courtyards in Venice. A well with an octagonal vera da pozzo (wellhead), a 15th-century open staircase rising on receding pointed arches, with a parapet of little Istrian stone pillars closed by a lion cub and pinecones: the complete sampler of the medieval Venetian house, framed in a few metres.
