On the Cannaregio side of the Grand Canal, tucked between Palazzo Civran and Palazzo Ruzzini, a short distance from the Fontego dei Tedeschi (the former German merchants’ trading house), Casa Perducci is one of those 15th-century façades a vaporetto (water bus) reveals for a moment before carrying you on. A Gothic building remodelled over the centuries, it faces the more theatrical scene across the water: the Fabbriche di Rialto, the Erberia and the bridge.
