Calle Turloni, between the Ponte Turlona on the Rio della Sensa - a structure of wood and stone, a rare wooden bridge surviving in the city, ’Turloni’ in the new street directory but still ’Turlona’ on the old nizioleto - and the Fondamenta degli Ormesini, recalls the citizen family of the Turloni: come from the Bergamo region and enriched by the wool trade, they owned here, in the parish of Santi Ermagora e Fortunato - the future San Marcuola - a whole ruga (row) of twenty-four houses, practically the entire calle, a stone’s throw from the fondamenta of the Ghetto Novo.
