Calle della Pietà (a Venetian calle, or street) is a small open-air archive, hidden behind the church of the same name and looking onto the rio della Pietà (a small canal). Here the Renaissance is not a museum: it is a plaque on a house, a bridge and a fragment of marble set into a wall.
