These two anchors are not Venetian: they belonged to two twin battleships of the Austro-Hungarian navy, the Viribus Unitis and the Tegetthoff, and they tell the last days of the Great War. The Viribus Unitis was the flagship of the imperial fleet: in June 1914 she had carried back to Trieste the body of Franz Ferdinand, the archduke killed at Sarajevo.
