A narrow calle (street) dense with shop windows, a stone’s throw from San Zulian and the Calle Larga: the Spadaria owes its name to the armourers’ workshops, the swordsmiths who forged the blades of the Serenissima (the Republic of Venice) here - swords, daggers, armour for a weapon-bearing city that armed its pride as well.
