On the Rio di San Giacomo dall’Orio (a small canal), where the Calle del Tentor of Santa Croce meets the Rio Terà Primo of San Polo (a filled-in canal, now a street), runs a bridge of bricks and stones with iron bands in roundels and scrolls and, at the centre of the arch, the traces of a chiselled-off lion of St Mark.
