At number 168 of the Rio Terà Lista di Spagna (a rio terà is a filled-in canal, now a street) opens the great portal of Palazzo Zeno, today seat of the Istituto Manin. The street itself owes its name to this building: the ’lista’ was the strip of ground in front of the seats of the embassies, and this one was called ’of Spain’ because the Spanish ambassador to the Serenissima resided in the palazzo.
