On the Fondamenta Condulmer, at the entrance to the Papadopoli Gardens and overlooking the rio dei Tolentini, rises a palazzo of the early 18th century that gave its name to the whole waterfront. It was commissioned by the Condulmer, whom tradition held to be tribunician — come from Pavia even before Doge Paolo Lucio Anafesto — while the documents record a Marco Condulmer, a bread merchant, already in 1297.
