On the northern flank of Campo Santo Stefano, at number 2947 and hard against Palazzo Loredan — seat of the Istituto Veneto — stands the 16th-century Palazzo Barbaro. Its façade on the campo is a Renaissance front of severe measure: two portals, six windows per floor, horizontal string courses; a second front overlooks the Rio del Duca with round-arched windows.
