This fondamenta (canalside walkway) is the first stretch of waterfront every traveller sees on leaving the station. It runs along the Grand Canal opposite Santa Lucia, with the green mass of the little Pantheon as its backdrop. Palazzo Foscari-Contarini, Casa Adoldo with its inscriptions and Palazzo Emo Diedo line the shore.
