The former match factory

Here the streets are named after the factory that stood here: Campo Saffa, Corte e Calle del Camin, Calle del Solfarin. Solfarin, in dialect, is the match: the little stick of wood with sulphur on the tip. The street names have preserved the trade, and beneath the names there is a story of industry. Before matches, glass was worked in this area.
