Campo Santa Marina is one of the quietest campi of the Castello sestiere, a parlour of colourful houses, cafe tables and a wellhead a few steps from the Miracoli and Rialto. But its name keeps an absence: here stood the old church of Santa Marina, erected - so they tell - by the Balbi family in 1030 and originally dedicated to San Liberale.
