Campo San Vitale — which Venetians more often call Campo San Vidal — is a small passing-through square in the sestiere (district) of San Marco, wedged between the vastness of Campo Santo Stefano and the head of the Accademia Bridge. Dominating it is the 18th-century façade of the church of San Vitale, a Palladian-inspired front that seems placed there on purpose to close the scene.
