A little calle in the sestiere of Cannaregio, in the district of San Canciano: a veritable maze of alleyways that old documents call ’in Birri’, from the Biria canal that once crossed the area. Here the calli slide into one another between campiello del Pestrin, calle Varisco and corte Battagia, in one of the city’s most popular quarters; calle Varisco, a few metres away, is even the narrowest in Venice, at fifty-three centimetres wide.
